resonating

This song is currently on repeat; I'm letting the words sink in because there is so much truth in them especially the second and third verse.

"Jesus sought me when a stranger wandering from the fold of God; He to rescue me from danger interposed his precious blood.
Oh to grace how great a debtor daily I'm constrained to thee. Let thy goodness, like a fetter, bind my wandering heart to thee. Prone to wander, Lord, I feel it, prone to leave the God I love. Here's my heart, Lord, take and seal it, seal it for thy courts above."

day two of music midtown

we spent all of saturday at the music festival. the first couple of bands weren't too terribly interesting so we took a blanket and sat between the two stages so we could listen to the ones we wanted to and nap through the ones we didn't. :)

we made our way down to see florence and the machine. it was completely worth standing in a packed group of people, because she was fabulous.

loved her.

pearl jam came on a little while later and it was insane how many people were there. they were pretty awesome and I made sure to pay attention because my brother would have been so disappointed if I had missed rock history. his words, not mine.

until next time georgia...

music midtown: day one

friday started out with an awesome lunch at the corner cafe in carrollton. it was yummy.

then we made the drive into atlanta and took the subway into midtown. for the record, I love public transit. and it makes it even more interesting when a drunk guy tries to be friends with you.

so excited for...

THE AVETT BROTHERS!!!

they were absolutely wonderful. I love them.
foo fighters came on after them, but we didn't find them very interesting. we had just heard some magical music goodness so we decided to leave.

we met this guy on our way back to the car.

future groupies for the avett brothers.
we were pretty smitten with them.

stay tuned for day two!
