Table Rock Mountain

Keeli and I went to Table Rock Mountain at the beginning of this month, and it was so much fun! We went all the way to the top. They are not lying when they say it is strenuous. I thought I was in shape until I did this hike. ;)

 Gunner came too. He did so well! We thought he would throw in the the towel halfway through and just lay down and refuse to move, but the exact opposite happened. He pulled us up and down the mountain.

the suits family goes camping!

Tuesday was my brother-in-law, Kent's, birthday, and Kait surprised him with a camping trip at Edisto last weekend. (You can read her take of it here, here, and here.) I drove down on Sunday afternoon and spent a few hours with them.

Poor Patch is a spoiled inside dog, so the bugs were a bit difficult for him to handle. Actually, they were hard for all of us to handle.

I stayed and ate dinner with them and dessert and got to see this lovely view before heading home. 

a weekend in Beaufort

After two years of telling my friend Sydney that I would come visit her in Beaufort, I finally made good of my promise. I couldn't believe it had taken me so long especially while I was driving down there. The drive alone is beautiful, and Beaufort is even more beautiful! 

Sydney recently moved into her new house (pictured further below), and it is just a two minute walk from a dock on the marsh. We walked down to the dock soon after I got there, and this was the view. Gorgeous!

Sydney's parents stopped by for a few minutes, and she snapped this photo of her mom checking out the kitchen. Her mom is one of the sweetest people! She invited me over for Thanksgiving after not even talking to me for ten minutes.

After her parents left, we went down to the historic area of Beaufort. 

We checked out some cute little shops and found this gem! Sadly, we did not purchase it. 

Used bookstore heaven! 

We also found this dress at a thrift store, and I made Sydney try it on. It was fabulous.

She showed me Beaufort's castle. The house was huge!

We woke up early Sunday morning to watch the sunrise. 

I'm in love with her house. It was super quaint, and I wanted to move right in.

We picked up a a bagel from Palm & Moon Bagel Company and then got coffee from Common Ground Coffeehouse before church on Sunday.

After church, we got a light lunch at Fat Patties.

The rest of the weekend was spent painting the bathrooms in her new house and hanging out. I had so much fun that I'm already planning another trip at the end of October, and I can't wait!

that time in march when my mom came to visit.

before my parents came back from South Sudan, Kait asked me what I wanted to do with them while they were here. unsure, I mentioned that I would really like it if mom came down and visited me.

and then about a month ago my mom mentioned coming to visit me for a weekend. Kait hadn't said a word to her; my mom just decided to come. I was thrilled.

the real reason my mom came was to look at a condo at Edisto, so I tagged along. but the rest of the weekend consisted of thrifting, cooking, going to church, playing scrabble, and hanging out with my roommates.

here are a few pictures from our drive back from Edisto. my mom saw a million things she wanted pictures of, so I was recruited as a photographer. this consisted of lots of turning around in the middle of the highway to get just the right shot; I saw my whole life flash before my eyes.

music midtown: day one

friday started out with an awesome lunch at the corner cafe in carrollton. it was yummy.

then we made the drive into atlanta and took the subway into midtown. for the record, I love public transit. and it makes it even more interesting when a drunk guy tries to be friends with you.

they were absolutely wonderful. I love them.

foo fighters came on after them, but we didn't find them very interesting. we had just heard some magical music goodness so we decided to leave.

road trip.

last weekend I took an awesome trip to georgia to visit my best friend. it was great to see her and we had so much fun together! mainly because we went to this fantastic music festival.

a roadtrip to see Chelsea

two weekends ago, tiffany and I went to see chelsea. it was so much fun and as you can see, we essentially ate and shopped our way through the entire weekend and spent entirely too much money. it was an awesome trip and I'm so happy I got to see her!
